Bent glass is produced in a horizontal mould by slowly heating the glass to approximately 600°C, at which the glass softens sufficiently and takes the shape of the mould. The glass is then slowly cooled to avoid any internal stress. The mould itself plays a very important role in bent glass manufacturing because it determines the quality and angle of the curve.
Manufacturing
• Single Monolithic Glass
It can be produced using all clear, tinted, pyrolytic coating and temperable sputtered coating glass.
• Laminated Glass
Two or more sheets of glass of the radius can be laminated together in accordance with the appropriate manufacturing standards, to provide different levels of protections.
Double Glazed Units
Double glazed units comprising two levels of clear, tinted, or coated glass as mentioned above whilst providing thermal insulation, solar control and acoustic insulation depending on the base glasses used.
