Zamil laminated glass is manufactured by bonding (autoclaving) two or more pieces of glass together with a plastic (P.V.B.) interlayer. However, “soft” resins are sometimes specifically used for sound insulation. In the main, however, most laminated products are manufactured with P.V.B. interlayers for safety or security glazing requirements. The special (P.V.B.) interlayer in laminated glass is designed to hold the fragments of glass together in the event of the glass being subjected to impact.
Laminated glass provides the visual appearance of monolithic glass, and is an essential prerequisite for sloped glazing applications such as skylights and domes.Laminated glass can be manufactured incorporating many types of clear, tinted and reflective glasses, and can combine an exciting range
of coloured interlayers or a high performance, clear, heat rejecting interlayer, known as “Heat Mirror XlR Laminated”.
In addition to safety glazing requirements, laminated glass compositions fulfill the needs for a wide range of security products including, Anti-Bandit, Bullet Resistant, Blast Resistant compositions, plus sound control laminates and an achieve exciting and functional architectural design opportunities.
Zamil Glass Industries manufacture the largest sizes available in the Middle East, up to 6000mm x 2500mm in P.V.B. laminated compositions.
